1.4.3 | Mobile devices

General Information

Suitable mobile devices (smartphones or tablets) are required to use the alea App.

Provision and management of these devices (e.g., device protection, user accounts, password policies, hygiene requirements, and, where applicable, policies regarding the use of personal devices) are the responsibility of the respective organization or system administrators.

The devices used must be sufficiently functional and operational for the intended purpose.

Supported Mobile Operating Systems

  • iOS: Version 15 or later

  • Android: Android 6.0 or later (API Level 23)

Regular operating system updates are recommended.

Supported Web Browsers

Current versions of common web browsers are supported for web access, including:

  • Chrome

  • Safari

  • Firefox

  • Edge

Information on Secure Use

The secure use of mobile devices in care environments requires compliance with the applicable data protection, password, and security policies of the respective organization.

This applies in particular to:

  • Use in residential care units

  • Use in home care environments

  • Use during patient visits

  • Use of personal devices in accordance with local policies

Recommendation on Number of Devices

At least one device per household or care unit is recommended. Ideally, each actively involved caregiver should have their own device and user account.
