1.3.2 | Repositioning monitoring

The Repositioning Monitoring function supports care professionals and caregivers by displaying the body position and the duration of the respective position.

To achieve this, the alea medical device software monitors and displays the care recipient's body position and the duration of the respective position. In addition, the system provides reminders when a repositioning interval defined by the care professional has been reached.

The information, status indicators and reminders provided are intended to:

  • display the body position and the duration of the respective position,

  • monitor configured repositioning intervals,

  • support the organization, planning and prioritization of repositioning activities.

The function does not provide medical assessments, risk classifications or therapeutic recommendations.

In particular, it is not intended to:

  • assess the risk of pressure injuries,

  • assess wound conditions,

  • determine the medical need for repositioning, or

  • derive medical measures.

The professional assessment and the decision regarding the type, timing and implementation of repositioning always remain the responsibility of the responsible care professionals.
