The Area Exit Notification function supports care professionals and caregivers by providing notifications when a care recipient leaves a predefined area.
The Area Exit Notification is an additional supportive function of the alea system outside the medical intended purpose. It is intended solely to provide information for the organizational support of care processes and does not replace the professional assessment of a care situation by healthcare professionals or any medical assessment.
To achieve this, the alea medical device software evaluates sensor data and may provide a notification when a care recipient leaves an area defined within the system.
The information and notifications provided are intended to:
-
indicate that a predefined area has been left,
-
support care professionals in assessing the current situation,
-
support the organization and prioritization of care activities.
The function does not provide a medical assessment, location tracking or any safety guarantee.
In particular, it is not intended to:
-
determine the exact location of a care recipient,
-
detect emergency situations,
-
reliably prevent wandering or elopement, or
-
derive medical or nursing-related measures.
The professional assessment of the situation and the decision regarding the type, timing and implementation of any required measures always remain the responsibility of the responsible care professionals.
