1.2.6 | Storage and return of alea hardware components

Notes on Storage of Spare and Backup Components

The number of hardware components provided depends on the customer-specific system configuration, the number of care recipients being supported, and the agreed spare component concept.

Additional spare or backup components may be provided for replacement in the event of defects, failures, or system expansion.

Non-installed spare components must be stored protected from light, in a dry environment, and within the approved environmental conditions.

Recommended storage conditions:

  • Temperature: −20 °C to +65 °C

  • Relative humidity: 5% to 98%

  • Storage preferably in a cabinet, drawer, or original packaging

The supplied packaging protects the components against moisture, contamination, UV radiation, and mechanical damage and should be retained for storage and potential future return shipment.

If the original packaging is damaged or no longer available, equivalent protection must be provided during storage and transport.

Storage Conditions

Non-installed alea hardware components should be stored in a dry location, protected from light, and preferably kept in their original packaging until use. The original packaging protects the components against moisture, contamination, UV exposure, and mechanical damage. If the original packaging is damaged or unavailable, equivalent protection must be provided during storage and transport.

The following environmental conditions apply for storage and transport:

In addition, care should be taken to ensure that product labeling, particularly the serial number and UDI, remains legible during storage, replacement, and return shipment.

Notes on Return, Replacement, and Disposal

Hardware components that are no longer required, defective, or intended for replacement must be returned to AssistMe or the authorized service partner through the designated service and support processes.

Return of components may be required in particular for:

  • Maintenance

  • Replacement of defective components

  • Decommissioning of installations

  • Device replacement

  • Proper disposal in accordance with WEEE requirements

Disposal of electrical and electronic components shall be carried out in accordance with the requirements of Directive 2012/19/EU (WEEE).

Note on Return Shipment

  • Before return shipment, all hardware components must be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected.

  • This supports safe inspection, refurbishment, reuse, or proper disposal within the intended product lifecycle.

  • Product labeling (SN/UDI) must remain legible when components are returned.
