From this point onward, you will find all usage information you may need whenever you are unsure how to correctly use the system and its components.
-
All configuration tasks and prerequisites for use are assumed to have been completed successfully and to be fully operational. If a question or issue cannot be resolved through proper use, please contact your responsible care personnel or the AssistMe team directly (see the back page of these Instructions for Use).
The following are the most important general instructions for use of the alea system:
-
Only alea-compatible incontinence products and the intended sensor components may be used. Selection of the appropriate incontinence product remains the responsibility of the care personnel and shall be based on the individual needs of the care recipient.
-
The system is considered operational once the installation, configuration, and functional checks described in Section 2.5 have been completed successfully. Status indicators and connection information of the components used should be checked regularly.
-
Correct attachment of the alea Clip and the designated sensor components is required for proper operation. Before first use, handling should be practiced within the intended care environment and reviewed using the provided training and instructional materials.
-
Maintenance, return shipment, replacement, and disposal of alea hardware components are performed in accordance with Section 1.2.6 using the designated service and support channels.
-
Before replacing, returning, or decommissioning components, any operator-specific documentation and assignments stored in the alea Cockpit should be reviewed and, where necessary, secured according to internal procedures.
-
In the event of connection problems between components, first verify the power supply, network connectivity, and correct assignments within the alea Cockpit. A new functional check should then be performed in accordance with Section 2.5.
-
Mobile devices and workstation systems may additionally be used for operation of the alea App and browser interfaces, provided that this does not interfere with the intended care workflows and complies with the requirements of the operator or care facility.
-
Notifications, status messages, and alerts displayed in the alea App are intended to support the organization of care activities. Assessment, prioritization, and implementation of appropriate care measures remain at all times the responsibility of the responsible care personnel.
